OOTD: La Redoute Men's Cardigan

Cardigan c/o La Redoute
Something I've suggested before, and have no qualms in doing so again, is that no man's wardrobe can be considered to be complete without an expansive set of knit-wear (or knit-wear style items) and, in particular, multiple examples of cardigans.

The humble cardigan is to fashionable men's clothing what spices are to a fine Nando's recipe - essential and, to be frank, freaking brilliant.

For today's OOTD post I've crafted a largely grey-scale ensemble (which I've jazzed up with a subtly patterned flower shirt) composed to emphasise the cotton and silk cardigan from La Redoute .

Currently retailing at £75, the low fasten, v-fronted cardigan is made from lightweight material which makes it a perfect, and highly comfortable, accessory to a long-sleeve shirt and one which won't leave the wearer sweltered or over-whelmed. As such, it's a fantastic out-wear alternative to a blazer or heavier jacket and is ideally suited to balmy spring evenings (or, indeed, as a way of adding an element of interest to daily office wear). A delightful item which straddles the gap between smart and casual with great effect.

The cardigan is taken from the latest men's ranges at La Redoute and constitutes one of the many essentials currently in stock at the company (I'd recommend this trench coat to anybody). Featuring an array of womens' and childrens' clothing (alongside hardware and footwear too), La Redoute's site is a veritable maze of consumer goodness.

The brand can be found on Facebook here , Twitter here and their blog is also worth a good browse too.
